Colby College

About

Colby College is a private liberal arts college founded in 1813 in Waterville, Maine - the 12th-oldest institution of its kind in the United States. The college enrolls approximately 2,400 undergraduate students drawn from nearly every U.S. state and around 70 countries, all on a 714-acre campus on Mayflower Hill.

Colby offers more than 100 academic programs across the liberal arts, structured around a distinctive 4-1-4 academic calendar. That calendar includes a dedicated January Plan term, which students use for intensive coursework, internships, or independent study. Small class sizes and a faculty focused on teaching and mentoring keep student–faculty relationships central to the academic experience. Extensive study abroad options extend that experience beyond campus.

Beyond the classroom, the college fields NCAA Division III athletic teams under the name Colby Mules and is home to the Colby College Museum of Art, regarded as one of the finest college art museums in the country. The college describes ongoing investment in facilities and programs as a standing institutional priority.

For job seekers with military backgrounds, Colby offers roles across a range of operational, administrative, and programmatic functions - including campus facilities, athletics, student services, and program development - within a structured, community-oriented institution that values discipline, collaboration, and purposeful work.
