First Presbyterian Day School (FPDS) is a private Christian school in Jackson, Mississippi, and a ministry of First Presbyterian Church (PCA). Founded in 1965, it educates more than 600 children from Pre-K through 6th grade and has operated for nearly six decades. The school is accredited by the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), which applies rigorous academic standards.
Its academic programmes cover Pre-K through 6th grade and combine hands-on learning with deliberate technology integration and a biblical worldview woven through all subjects. This is organised around a distinctive approach the school calls 'Learn. Grow. Go.', which aims to develop students who are spiritually, emotionally and academically prepared for the future. The focus on the early years is deliberate: FPDS concentrates its work on what it regards as children's most formative stage.
The educational experience extends beyond the classroom. Daily Bible classes and weekly chapel services form part of the timetable, alongside a fine arts programme and an athletics programme. Service projects are designed to cultivate a heart for others, and the school describes its mission in terms of planting seeds of Christlikeness. Work within the school is oriented towards these values, with technical domains spanning educational technology integration, curriculum development and biblical worldview instruction.
FPDS serves the Jackson-metro area from its campus in Jackson, Mississippi.
