Hospital for Special Care is a private, non-profit long-term acute care hospital founded in 1941 and based in New Britain, Connecticut. It is the fourth-largest free-standing long-term acute care hospital in the United States and one of only two in the nation that serves both adults and children. The hospital provides complex rehabilitation, chronic disease treatment, and outpatient rehabilitative services.

The organization operates specialized centers for brain injury care, cardiac care, complex pediatric care, neuromuscular care, pulmonary rehabilitation, spinal cord injury care, and therapy and rehabilitation services. Its Autism Center was the first in the nation to be recognized as a Patient-Centered Specialty Practice by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

Beyond clinical care, Hospital for Special Care runs community programs including an Aquatic and Fitness Center, an Adaptive Sports Program, the Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp, and the Manes & Motions therapeutic horseback riding program. The organization has a special commitment to helping people with disabilities achieve their fullest physical and recreational potential.
