JCB North America is the North American arm of JCB, a British multinational manufacturer of construction, agricultural, and waste-handling equipment. Founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire - starting in a garage - JCB has grown into one of the world's top three manufacturers of construction equipment and claims the position of the largest privately-owned company in its sector. In 2025, the company marks 80 years of operation.
JCB employs around 19,000 people across 22–23 manufacturing plants on four continents, including facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, India, and Brazil. Its product catalogue spans more than 300 machines sold in over 150 countries, including equipment well-known on North American worksites:
- Backhoe loaders and excavators (including mini excavators)
- Loadall telescopic handlers
- Wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, and compact track loaders
- Fastrac tractors
JCB remains privately held and family-owned, a structure the company describes as making it accountable to customers rather than shareholders. Its engineering focus spans heavy equipment manufacturing, agricultural machinery, and industrial product development, with an emphasis on equipment built to perform in demanding environments.
