What you get to do:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager, coordinates and supervises the delivery of health care on behalf of Sesame Place for Guests and Employees. This position will assist park departments in understanding and resolving both Guest and Team Member injuries through root cause analysis.
The EHS Manager will also be responsible for complying and enforcing company, local, state and federal compliance in Environmental programs, General Liability and Workman’s Compensation.
You will also:
- Hire staff for Health Services to meet daily operational needs of the park and company response time goals. Train and ensure team members follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines taking action to correct deficiencies and recognize performance promptly.
- Establish objectives and evaluative team members to ensure guests and team members receive excellent service and care.
- Manage Sesame Place and SEA safety programs by evaluating and reporting injury, accident and illness trends. Evaluate medical care provided to constantly improve care and improve guest experience. Work closely with Corporate and other parks to establish and implement protocols and procedures.
- Responsible for minimizing losses through prevention, liability reduction and educational programs.
- Oversee accident investigations to ensure accident interviews are completed in a timely manner and facilitate investigation for both employee and guest incidents.
- Oversee management of claims processing for Worker’s Compensation and general liability
- Evaluate statistical data generated by EHS to track incidents for trend analysis. Communicate injury targets, trend and root cause analysis.
- Safety compliance: OSHA regulations, inspections, training, accident investigations, worker’s compensation and general liability
- Oversees management of environmental regulatory programs and company environmental programs. Maintains compliance as required by federal, state, and local laws to include but not limited to wastewater, pesticide use, hazardous chemicals, medical waste, air quality, energy conservation, spill response, above ground storage tanks, solid waste, hazardous waste, and DOT experience.
- Participates and assists with inspections, inventory, and collection of data concerning: Potable, Non-Potable Water, Storm, and Wastewater, Pesticide storage, handling, and use, Hazardous chemicals/ waste, Universal/ Medical waste, Air quality, Storage tanks, Solid waste and Recyclables, Spill Control, Fire Suppression Systems and others as requested.
- Ensures all environmental recordkeeping practices are adhered to in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations to include meeting ongoing deadlines throughout the calendar year.
- Ensure regulatory and corporate compliance by inspecting and touring the park facilities.
- Direct training awareness programs and audit department compliance. Develop and communicate local strategic safety initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have five (5) years of related experience and/or training in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety field or equivalent training
- Minimum of 3 years medical service experience, preferably in occupational health, emergency medicine or school environment
- Experience in public liability and worker's compensation including claims management and litigation management preferred
- Must have knowledge of environmental/safety laws and/or the ability to research new information and/or laws
- Consistently practice and drive a culture of safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
- Demonstrate the ability to meet strict deadlines and lead others in a fast-paced work environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Ability to create tangible goals and execute activities to achieve those goals
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays and the ability to travel as needed
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions
- Park coordinator of wellness programs for team members. Works with Human Resources to create and implement programs. Administer the collection process for the company random drug testing program
