Siyeh Corporation is the federally chartered economic development arm and holding company of the Blackfeet Tribe, established in 1999 and based in Browning, Montana. It owns and organises tribally owned operating subsidiaries, among them Siyeh Communications, a telecommunications and broadband utility registered with the FCC as an Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (LEC). The enterprise is mission-driven, with an explicit focus on building economic opportunity for tribal members and strengthening self-governance and self-sufficiency for the Blackfeet Nation.
Through Siyeh Communications, the corporation delivers internet, phone, and business services to the Blackfeet Reservation and surrounding rural areas of northwestern Montana. Its principal technical undertaking is a fiber-to-the-home project involving an investment of $33m to construct approximately 555 route miles of fiber-optic cable, replacing legacy copper infrastructure and extending high-speed broadband to rural reservation communities. Technical domains span telecommunications, broadband, fiber-optic networking, fiber-to-the-home deployment, legacy copper replacement, and rural connectivity infrastructure.
The work is oriented toward community outcomes - economic development, education, and healthcare access - and sits at the intersection of public service and infrastructure delivery. That combination of field-deployed network construction, utility operations, and community-facing mission is relevant to candidates whose backgrounds are in service, operations, and infrastructure rather than corporate technology.
