Sound Transit is a regional transit agency serving the Seattle metropolitan area and the broader Central Puget Sound region in Washington State. The agency plans, builds, and operates high-capacity public transportation services, connecting communities across a network that spans from Everett to Tacoma.
The agency's integrated network includes three main services: Link light rail, a rapid transit system; Sounder commuter train, providing commuter rail connections; and ST Express bus services, offering express routes throughout the region. Together, these services serve millions of riders annually.
Sound Transit operates under a Board of Directors and is subject to community oversight, maintaining transparency through public meetings. As a public agency, its operations and decisions are accountable to the residents of the region it serves.
