Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is a not-for-profit health system operating four hospitals and more than 30 clinics across the southernmost 16 counties of Illinois. The system employs over 4,000 staff and maintains a network of more than 670 physicians and advanced practice providers covering 60 specialties.
SIH provides the region's only comprehensive cancer center, Level II Trauma Center, open heart surgery program, birthing center, special care nursery, and pediatric unit. It also operates the SIH Mulberry Center, the only non-state operated inpatient behavioral health unit south of Interstate 64, and the largest robotic surgery program in Southern Illinois.
As a not-for-profit organization, SIH has a stated commitment to caring for all patients regardless of ability to pay. Since 2014, the system has provided $1.3 billion in charity care, unreimbursed care, and community benefits. The system serves communities along the Route 13 corridor and throughout the region's 16 southernmost counties.
