Position Purpose
The Director of Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Safety will oversee the Sr. Regulatory Compliance manager that provides regulatory support to all 3 verticals in addition to oversight of the Company’s safety programs. This position involves creating and enforcing company policies, standards, and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
Key Responsibilities
This role works closely with senior leaders as a strategic partner to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Establishes compliance standards and designs improvements to internal control structures. Minimizes legal risks by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing regulations, recommending new procedures, and complying with legal requirements including:
Develop and execute comprehensive policies, standards, and procedures to ensure organizational adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, enhancing overall regulatory compliance across the company.
Present regulatory updates to senior leadership as dictated by the business.
Review and assess facility environmental reports to verify compliance with applicable regulations, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvements where necessary.
Manage the acquisition and renewal process for environmental and related permits/licenses, actively engaging in modifications as required to align with business operational needs.
Provide technical assistance staff on regulatory and compliance issues.
Collaborate with compliance teams to address new and evolving compliance challenges related to the platform and strategic partnership needs.
Work with Safety Department to manage and maintain Accident Rate Statistics and prepare reports on a monthly basis.
Support Greenfield and Acquisition initiatives through onboarding tools and procedures.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
This role will report to the VP of Corporate Safety.
This role will have 1-2 direct reports
Travel Requirements:
10-15% of the time to various company and regulatory meetings

The successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks well and handle multiple projects at once to ensure compliance initiatives are completed on time across various regulatory areas. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance management (Environmental or Safety) or a related role, with a focus on environmental and safety regulations.
Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory compliance in a corporate setting.
Experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
Strong understanding of Sara Title II reporting requirements.
Expertise in navigating and applying for environmental permits/licenses and managing renewals and modifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and communicate them effectively to various stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven capability to work collaboratively with operational staff at various branch locations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive compliance initiatives.
In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements pertaining to environmental compliance.
Familiarity with coordinating waste removal activities and managing relationships with national waste vendors.
Relevant professional certifications in regulatory compliance or environmental management are considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field, demonstrating a robust theoretical understanding and analytical capabilities necessary for navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
Extensive Industry Experience: Over 10 years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance management within the manufacturing or environmental services sector, showcasing a proven track record in successfully implementing and managing compliance policies and procedures.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance through strategic partnership and influence.
In-depth Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT).
Advanced Problem Solving & Analytical Abilities: Strong capability to analyze complex regulatory scenarios and develop robust, innovative solutions that ensure compliance while optimizing operational efficiency. • Superior Communication Proficiency: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with expertise in preparing detailed compliance reports and engaging with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Technology and Data Management Skills: Expertise in utilizing regulatory compliance software and tools for tracking, reporting, and managing compliance-related data, ensuring real-time insights and strategic decision-making.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
Preferred Education
Master's degree or professional certification in Regulatory Compliance or a similar discipline considered advantageous.
Minimum Years of Work Experience
Director of Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Safety role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in regulatory compliance or a related field, demonstrating a proven track record of ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
