TST, Inc. is one of the major American producers of secondary aluminum ingot, billet and cast plate, and a major distributor of primary aluminum foundry ingot, grain refiners and hardeners. The company also trades nonferrous scrap and other aluminium commodities worldwide. Its operations span aluminium melting and casting, secondary aluminium production, nonferrous scrap trading, aluminium dross recycling and metallurgy, serving industries including aerospace, automotive, appliances, lighting, building products and semiconductors.
Founded in 1946, TST evolved from the Torrance Iron & Metal Company and has been shaped across decades by the Stein family, beginning with founder David Stein. The business operates through five divisions - TIMCO, Standard, Tandem, Alpase and TST Nikkei - across four facility locations, with a presence in Carson, California and Mexico, and customers around the globe. TST Nikkei is a joint venture with Nikkei MC in Mexico.
The company's work is grounded in industrial processing: melting, casting, recycling and trading of aluminium and other metals. TST has pursued environmental sustainability through partnerships such as Hydrova for zero-waste aluminium dross recycling, supporting a circular-economy approach to aluminium materials.
