United Aviate Academy

About

United Aviate Academy is a flight training institution wholly owned by United Airlines, established in 2019 and located in Goodyear, Arizona. The academy is the training arm of United's Aviate program, an industry-leading pilot career development initiative that provides aspiring and established pilots with a structured path to a United flight deck. It is part of the airline's strategy to address the aviation industry's pilot shortage, with a goal of training 5,000 new pilots by 2030.

The academy offers comprehensive flight training for professional pilot careers and maintains a nationwide presence through partnerships with universities and flight schools. A central focus of the program is diversity, with a stated goal for the student body to comprise 50% women and people of color. Participants in the Aviate program receive coaching and mentorship from United pilots.

For those in the program, career development and securing a path to employment with United Airlines are key components. The Aviate program also offers travel privileges to its participants, providing tangible benefits as they progress through their training and career milestones.
