AutoGate, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturer of gate and secure entry systems, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Berlin Heights, Ohio. The company produces Vertical Pivot Lift (VPL) gate systems, crash-rated barriers and a range of access control products, and describes itself as the leading manufacturer of VPL gate systems in the United States. It pioneered the first UL 325 compliant vertical pivot gate operator.
The product line spans vertical pivot lift gates, slide and swing operators, barrier arms, and accessories and access control devices. Its Shield crash barriers carry Department of State K4, K8 and K12 crash ratings. Gate operator engineering focuses on 24VDC systems with built-in battery backup, designed to keep entries operating through power outages, alongside safety compliance work under the UL 325 standard.
AutoGate's equipment is installed in all 50 US states and 15 foreign countries, supported by a dealer network across the United States and Canada. The company's sales and technical support staff bring more than 100 combined years of experience in the security sector. Work is concentrated in perimeter security, physical access control and gate and entry automation.
Founded by Robert "Bob" Rodwancy, the business is now led by President Bill Rodwancy, with an emphasis on safety and reliability in its systems.
