Crown Lift Trucks is the trading name of Crown Equipment, a family-owned manufacturer of lift trucks and material handling equipment founded in 1945 by brothers Carl H. Dicke and Allen A. Dicke in New Bremen, Ohio. Now led by the fourth generation of the Dicke family, the company is one of the world's largest lift truck makers, serving customers in 84 countries through 24 manufacturing facilities and more than 500 retail locations.
The work spans engineering and production across electric and internal combustion lift truck design, motors and drive units, electronic modules, and vertical integration manufacturing. Crown designs and manufactures up to 85 percent of its lift truck components in-house - motors, drive units and electronic modules among them - and applies a human-centered design philosophy aimed at operator productivity, comfort and safety. Its product range runs from hand pallet trucks to high-lifting turret trucks, complemented by fleet management software such as InfoLink and QuickPick Remote for order-picking workflows. The company has received more than 100 global design awards.
Operations combine trades, manufacturing and technical work in a vertically integrated production environment, with a stated culture built on quality, reliability and customer focus maintained over nearly eight decades. The company describes its customer promise in terms of dependability - "when every minute matters, customers can count on Crown" - and its internal standard as "when it says Crown on the outside, it's a Crown on the inside." Crown began as a one-room operation in rural Ohio and retains those small-town roots at its headquarters today.
