Home of the Innocents is a Louisville-based nonprofit founded in 1880 that provides child welfare and behavioral health services to more than 3,500 children and families each year across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Operating from a 22-acre campus near downtown Louisville, the organization employs more than 500 people across 13 integrated programs.
The organization's services span a broad range of needs, including behavioral health, therapeutic and residential treatment, foster care and adoption, pediatric complex care, parent education, custody exchange services, and support for homeless young adults. Pediatric complex care is delivered through the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center. All programs are grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed clinical practices.
Home of the Innocents is one of only two certified Sanctuary Organizations in Kentucky - a designation reflecting its institutional commitment to trauma-responsive care across its workforce and service delivery. The organization's core values are compassion, wellness, empowerment, and excellence.
