MFA Oil

About

MFA Oil is a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, supplying fuels, oils, lubricants, and propane across eight Midwestern and Southern states: Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Founded in 1929 as part of the Missouri Farmers Association, the cooperative was built on the principle that farmers and ranchers are best served by working together. It is governed through a network of more than 320 farmer-delegates representing local communities.

The company's energy distribution operations span over 80 bulk plant locations and cover diesel, gasoline, propane, and lubricants for agricultural, residential, and commercial customers. Beyond fuel distribution, MFA Oil operates two retail subsidiaries: Break Time, a convenience store chain with more than 70 locations in Missouri, and a portfolio of Big O Tires franchises across Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas.

MFA Oil employs more than 1,600 people across its operations. Roles span a range of functions, including fuel distribution and logistics, propane services, retail convenience store management, and automotive/tire franchise operations. The cooperative structure means the organization is accountable to its farmer-member owners rather than outside shareholders.
