The National Western Center is a visionary 2.2 million square foot campus in Denver, Colorado, transforming a historic site into a global destination for food and agricultural discovery. Located just two miles north of downtown Denver, this 250-acre year-round hub represents one of the nation's most ambitious urban renewal projects, bringing together the City and County of Denver, Colorado State University, the National Western Stock Show, History Colorado, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. The campus hosts innovation labs, research facilities, international conferences, farmers markets, outdoor festivals, and the iconic National Western Stock Show every January.
More than just buildings, the National Western Center embodies a mission to convene the world and lead, inspire, create, educate, and entertain in pursuit of global food solutions. With state-of-the-art spaces including the Stockyards Event Center, CSU Spur campus (featuring Vida, Hydro, and Terra buildings focused on food, water, and health), The Yards, and riverfront open space, the center connects rural and urban economies while celebrating Western heritage. The campus has evolved from its origins as the Denver Union Stock Yard Company, founded in 1881, into a modern epicenter for agricultural innovation, sustainable practices, and year-round experiences that serve both the local community and global visitors.
