About

Pacific Park is an oceanfront amusement park on the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California. Opened on May 26, 1996, it was the first amusement park on the West Coast built over the ocean and is Los Angeles' only admission-free amusement park. The park occupies two acres of the pier, a Santa Monica landmark since 1909, and draws more than 8 million visitors a year.

The park operates 12 rides and 14 midway games, alongside an oceanfront food plaza and the Pier Gear retail outlets. Its signature attraction, the Pacific Wheel, is the world's first and only solar-powered Ferris wheel; the West Coaster roller coaster rises 55 feet above Santa Monica Bay. The company's technical work spans solar-powered ride technology, renewable energy engineering and amusement ride engineering, and sustainability is a stated focus of its operations.

Founded to bring amusement back to the historic Santa Monica Pier, the park combines classic California beach culture with modern amusement attractions. It sits in Santa Monica, within the Los Angeles and Southern California market, and operates in the amusement park, entertainment, tourism and hospitality sectors.
