RK Industries is a second-generation, family-owned specialty contractor founded in 1963 and operating across the Mountain West and the Southwest. The company self-performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fabrication trades rather than subcontracting them - an approach it says supports quality control, coordination and safer job sites. Work is organised into seven lines of business: RK Mechanical, RK Electrical, RK Steel, RK Water, RK Service, RK Energy and RK Mission Critical.
Technical work spans mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, steel and advanced fabrication, modular prefab, water and energy systems, and contracting for mission critical facilities. The business is led by brothers Rick Kinning, chairman and CEO, and Jon Kinning, COO.
RK Industries runs an apprenticeship and trades-training programme established more than 25 years ago by Ron Kinning, intended to develop the next generation of tradespeople. The company recruits both apprentices and experienced professionals, and lists craftsmanship, safety and getting the job done right among its stated values.
