Rowan Digital Infrastructure, founded in 2020 and backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, develops data center campuses across the United States. The company handles the full development process in-house - site selection and land development, power procurement, design, and construction - delivering facilities built to customers' exact specifications for demanding computing workloads. Its sites span 20 states, and the team has grown to more than 100 people since founding.
Rowan's model is vertically integrated: a single team carries projects from site acquisition through construction, without handoffs between siloed groups. Custom campus developments are delivered on a 12-18 month timeline, compared with the multi-year timelines typical of the sector. The company's work sits at the intersection of construction, energy infrastructure and digital infrastructure, with practice areas including renewable energy, power procurement, and data center design and build.
Sustainability targets are treated as operational commitments. Campuses are designed for 100% renewable energy access and are developed against BREEAM and LEED standards. Rowan conducts Life Cycle Assessments to reduce the embodied carbon of materials, and tracks construction waste monthly against an 85% diversion target for recycled or repurposed materials. The organisation has scaled quickly from a small founding team to its current size, drawing on backgrounds in infrastructure development, renewable energy and data centre operations.
