United Health Services (UHS) is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system founded in 1981. Based in the Greater Binghamton region of New York, the organization serves communities across Broome and surrounding counties in the Southern Tier of upstate New York and portions of Northeast Pennsylvania. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of residents from the communities it serves.
The system operates four hospitals and more than 60 locations, employing over 7,000 staff alongside more than 650 medical providers. UHS and its affiliated medical group - comprising more than 570 members - provide a range of healthcare services, including hospital care, long-term care, home care, and physician practices. The organization serves approximately 600,000 residents and contributes an annual economic impact of more than $1.79 billion to the region.
