Virtua Health is an academic health system serving South Jersey with more than 14,000 colleagues, including over 2,850 doctors and clinicians. The organisation operates five hospitals, two satellite emergency departments, 40+ ambulatory surgery centers, and more than 400 other care locations throughout the region.
The system provides clinical care across major medical specialties including cardiology, transplant care, orthopedics, maternity care, cancer, neurosciences, and pediatrics. Virtua Health College of Medicine & Life Sciences, affiliated with Rowan University, leads research and education programs. Clinical partnerships with Penn Medicine (cancer and neurosciences) and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (pediatrics) extend the system's capabilities in specialised areas.
Beyond hospital and ambulatory care, Virtua operates community-focused programmes including the Pediatric Mobile Services Unit and the Eat Well food access initiative. The organisation combines advanced clinical care with research, medical education, and community health outreach across its service territory.
