YMCA of South Palm Beach County is a nonprofit community organisation founded in 1972. It works to strengthen children, families and the wider South Palm Beach County community through three areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The organisation serves more than 36,000 individuals and has operated for more than five decades.
Its programmes span aquatics, youth sports, camps, childcare, preschool and after-school care, health and fitness, and services for people with special needs. These are delivered through two branches: the Peter Blum Family YMCA of Boca Raton in Boca Raton, Florida, and the DeVos-Blum Family YMCA of Boynton Beach in Boynton Beach, Florida. Alongside recreation and education, the organisation provides practical support to families and people in need.
Membership dues sustain daily operations, while an annual giving campaign raises over $1 million to expand access to programmes. Roles within the organisation are situated in a mission-driven, community-oriented setting, with an emphasis on direct service to youth, families and individuals across South Palm Beach County.
