Eagleville Hospital is an independent non-profit behavioral health facility in Eagleville, Pennsylvania, providing a full continuum of care for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Its services run from medically supervised detoxification and inpatient residential treatment to outpatient programs and aftercare support, with warm handoffs linking one stage of care to the next. The hospital has been in operation for more than 75 years and is the only programme outside Philadelphia in the region specialising in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
The residential programme occupies a 305-bed facility on a 40-acre campus in Montgomery County, serving the greater Philadelphia region. Treatment is built around individualised plans, with clinical approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, trauma-informed care and 12-step facilitation. Peer support groups led by Certified Recovery Specialists and vocational and job training services form part of the longer-term recovery roadmap, which extends beyond discharge.
The hospital treats addiction and mental health as chronic conditions shaped by biological, psychosocial and environmental factors, and its stated care philosophy is patient-centred. Aftercare and continuing support are emphasised as heavily as inpatient work, with connections to outpatient programmes and mutual aid networks designed to sustain long-term outcomes.
