FerroWorks is an American manufacturer of cast and forged heavy-duty components for the rail, infrastructure and industrial sectors. Its product line includes couplers, yokes, knuckles, axles and crankshanks - cast and forged parts used in demanding heavy-industry applications. The work spans casting, forging and machining, alongside mechanical and electrical systems and pneumatics.
The company was formed through the union of four legacy American manufacturers: McConway & Torley, Standard Forged Products, Kutztown Foundry and Machining, and McKees Rocks Forgings. Together these businesses carry more than 150 years of operational experience in casting and forging. FerroWorks is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with additional facilities in McKees Rocks and Kutztown, and is backed by Stellex Capital Management, a private-equity firm. It operates as a parent organisation for a family of companies and is led by CEO David Meyer.
Roles at FerroWorks draw on practical technical skills. The company runs training programmes covering blueprint reading, mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatics and leadership, with an explicit commitment to training the next generation of metal workers. Its stated priorities include American-made quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, combining established craft practice with newer methods.
