Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is a nonprofit social enterprise operating across Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago. It is the largest nonprofit provider of job training programs in the region. The organization is funded through its network of retail stores and donation centers, which sell donated clothing and household items to support its mission.
The organization's core mission is connecting people to work and preparing them for life, with a focus on empowering individuals facing barriers to employment, including people with disabilities, those returning from incarceration, and veterans. Its services are delivered through Workforce Connection Centers, which provide job training and employment placement, and TalentBridge offices, which offer career development support.
In 2020, the organization received a $15 million donation from MacKenzie Scott, described as the largest investment in its history. This funding supports its operations as it continues to rely on community support through donations and purchases at its retail locations.
