Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries is a nonprofit social enterprise headquartered in Springfield, Illinois, that works to help people overcome barriers to employment and achieve economic independence. Its activities span thrift retail, workforce development, youth services and supportive community programmes, with a footprint covering 33 central Illinois counties and four counties in Indiana.
The organisation operates a retail network of more than a dozen thrift stores and donation centres. Donated goods are sold through these outlets, and the proceeds are reinvested into community programmes rather than distributed as profit. Alongside retail operations, its work is structured around training and employment support: vocational training and career-development programmes, a computer-skills development course that builds digital competence, and Career Services offering job-search assistance, resume and cover-letter help, mock interviews and job-retention training.
Further programmes include youth mentoring and enrichment activities and Community Day Services, a supportive community-based day service. Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries holds CARF accreditation for its health and human services programmes and governance. Its mission, as described by United Way of Central Illinois, is to provide people with the skills and resources to become self-sufficient through the power of work.
