Neighborhood Healthcare is a private non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center serving communities in San Diego and Riverside counties, California. Founded in 1969 as a single volunteer clinic, the organisation now employs more than 1,000 people across 17 or more locations and provides care to more than 90,000 patients, accounting for nearly 500,000 medical, dental and behavioural health visits a year. Its founding principle is that care is delivered regardless of a patient's ability to pay or circumstance.
The organisation operates an integrated, whole-person care model. Its services span primary care, dental care, behavioural health, women's health and prenatal care, pediatrics, and specialty and ancillary services including chiropractic, acupuncture, podiatry, vision, pharmacy and laboratory work. Alongside clinical care, it runs non-clinical programmes addressing social determinants of health, among them food assistance, family planning and senior wellness.
Work is organised around stated values of compassion, integrity, professionalism, collaboration and going above and beyond, with an explicit commitment to equitable access to care. For candidates moving on from uniformed service, the employer profile is that of a large, established non-profit health system: multi-county reach, a mix of clinical and community-facing roles, and a mission focused on serving patients one at a time within the wider community.
